This large dollshouse with its four metal legs came into my collection twenty years ago.
Since then I am wondering who the manufacturer was.
I am sure it was made in East Germany in the mid-60s though.

 nein, solide gefertigte massive Holzteile.
The plastic age has not yet begun.
There are many interesting wooden elements to be seen.

A lawn in front of the house - a feature of the later VERO bungalow as well.

The dollshouse is sadly missing its roof -
a roof would have helped to identify it.

The wooden door is very eye-catching -
but I do not remember having ever seen a house with this door before.

Because of the architecture and the windows with its decoration
I think it could be a dollshouse made by the VEB Grünhainichen.

  1. The chevron door is the trend now! I also love the ground floor "linoleum"? Precious curtains - how did they last so long?

  2. yes, the floor cover looks like linoleum - and the curtains are even quite clean, I agree :)

  3. Ilove the bathroom scene and the little courtyard with the washing line. It is the eye for detail and realism that makes German dolls' houses of the 60s special. My own little English childhood house was of a type that remains dear to me, but it was not exactly realistic!
